SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A father and his adult daughter have been arraigned on charges of poaching deer in northern Utah.

The Standard-Examiner of Ogden reports that 53-year-old Mark Boardman and 26-year-old Beth Boardman are accused of shooting deer in September without adequate permits.

The two are charged with destruction of protected property and several permit violations. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources investigated the case.

The father lives in Port Orchard, Wash., and the daughter lives in San Diego.

They were not at this week's hearing, but their attorney Jack Molgard asked for an evidence hearing. A judge set that for April 8.

Mark Boardman is also charged with transporting the deer, which prosecutors say he has acknowledged. But they say he has disputed the other charges.
