Eli Mackinnon got a hog of a birthday present while deer hunting just outside of Mobile, Alabama this past January. Mackinnon turned 14 on January 31st and his dad took him hunting for his birthday.
The teen climbed into his stand on a large food plot around 3 p.m. Around 4:30 p.m. a sounder of piglets and mature sows poured into the field and began feeding. Trying to get a bead on one of the 200-pound sows milling around, Mackinnon noticed a large hog entering the field to his left. With a well-placed shot from his .30-06, he downed an estimated 400-pound boar.
