In my opinion, Jared Mills has the best whitetail-themed hunting channel on YouTube. He provides excellent tips, and his videos contain some of the most spectacular footage of whitetails, especially mature bucks, that you’ll ever see. (Example: Click here to watch Jared arrow a 195-inch giant with a drop tine from only 11 yards; insane!)
In the 21-minute video below, Jared has finally slipped into a spot on his new property that has a lot of promise. It’s November 1, 2025. He used a canoe to slip in the back door via a pond, and he’s attempting to lure a buck into point-blank range for his recurve.
Be sure to turn up the volume on Jared’s videos; he captures wildlife sounds like few others. In this video, a massive 5x5 appears at the 38-second mark. The video has numerous other deer encounters, too.
If you’re pressed for time and want to get right to Jared’s rattling tip, fast-forward to the 17:53 mark. This tip is one I’ve never really thought about, but it makes perfect sense. He explains why the best time to rattle in a mature buck is right after you’ve had an immature buck leave your sight but is still within sound of your rattling antlers. The idea is to rattle in the smaller buck, which will then serve as a decoy for a bigger buck. Smart!
