You’re likely familiar with comedian Jeff Foxworthy for his bit “You Might Be a Redneck If” or his TV hosting duties on “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader.” What you might not know is Jeff is a diehard hunter who owns 3,000 acres in Georgia, where he farms 400 acres and maintains big gardens for everything from tomatoes to blueberries. Of course, planting food plots for whitetails is an annual priority on his farm, too.
Jeff describes the property as “the greatest money I’ve ever spent in my life.” He first set foot on the land in 2002; at that time it was owned by a hunting outfitter for quail and deer. After Jeff had the chance to hunt the property a couple of times, the owners reached out to him asking if he’d be interested in buying it. They were also talking to a developer interested in turning the land into a golf course. Jeff toured the property and bought it only a week later in 2003.
As you’ll see in the 30-second video below, Jeff hasn’t lost his sense of humor when it comes to pursuing whitetails.
