Eastern Nebraska Police Say Public Reports Seeing Cougar

LA VISTA, Neb. (AP) — Police in the Omaha suburb of La Vista say a report of a mountain lion in a residential area appears to be credible, and they are investigating.

Omaha television station KMTV says a person reported to police seeing a cougar near 103rd and Giles over the weekend.

The sighting comes two months after Omaha police shot and killed a mountain lion outside a commercial building at 102nd and Q streets.

In March, Douglas County Sheriff's deputies searched a large field after somebody reported spotting a cougar near 144th and Pacific. They did not find a mountain lion.
