The saying “you get what you pay for” is largely true for everything from lawn mowers to ladder stands, which is why so many of us hunters dream of upgrading our gear whenever we find ourselves with some extra cash. However, I recently learned about a promotion from Barnett that could mean a new crossbow is in your future for far less money than expected.
As noted in the article title, the Barnett Predator crossbow is on sale. And it’s not just $50 or $100 off. When I first saw this news posted on the company’s Facebook page, I thought it was a misprint. But further checking confirmed the Predator is $600 off. It was priced at $1,399.99 and is now $799.99.

While I’ve never hunted with a Barnett Predator, I did shoot several arrows through one at a recent Archery Trade Association (ATA) Show, and I was impressed with the bow’s trigger and accuracy. It balances well, and the fit and finish is very good.
As for specs: The Barnett Predator crossbow delivers arrows at 430 fps with a draw weight of 207 pounds and power stroke of 16.33 inches. Measuring 37.125 inches long and weighing 7.8 pounds, the bow has a Carbonlite riser that removes extra weight. The Predator package includes a 1.5-5x32mm premium illuminated scope, rope cocking device, side-mount quiver, three 22-inch Headhunter arrows and lubrication wax. FYI regarding sale duration: The Barnett social media post I mentioned earlier stated “While supplies last.” For more information on all Barnett crossbows, visit www.barnettcrossbows.com.
