Review: Truck Interior Liner by Husky Liners

You bought your 4x4 truck to use it off-road and that means it’s going to get dirty. No problem cleaning up the outside, but you’ll want to protect the inside as much as possible from moisture and mud. There are a number of products out there that offer protection, but I recently went with the trusty brand Husky Liner.

I have a 2014 Ford F-150 SuperCrew Cab that I needed to get interior floor protection for. Ordering the liners was simple. I went to HuskyLiners.com and entered the year, make, model and style of truck and the site directed me to liners that are a perfect fit for my vehicle. I placed the order and the packages arrived at my house.

Installation is super easy with the X-Act Contour series. This series is pliable and tough and fit nicely into all the tight spots in the truck. While there might be some “memory” in the liners when first installed these relax out within a few minutes, especially if it’s hot out. Once relaxed, the lines lay perfect in the floor.

I first installed the center hump liner in the front, directly below the center console. This was the one piece that actually needed some cutting to make it fit properly. However, Husky places an outline on the liner for you to follow with a razor knife. It took a minute of carefully cutting along the line and then I was installing the center hump liner.

With this installed, it was time to place the front floor liners. The driver’s side liner has snap holes for the factory installed floor snaps to hook into that keep the mat from sliding. Both driver and passenger floor lines slightly overlap the center hump liner, completely covering the front’s floor.

Next, it was time to place the rear floor liner. There are two models to choose from, 2nd seat floor liner (full coverage) and 2nd seat floor liner (footwell coverage). I went with the full coverage model as it extends under the rear seat. If installing a gear box you would technically only need the footwell coverage, but I opted to go bigger.

The last step was installing a Husky Gearbox under the rear seat. This gearbox is designed to fit perfectly under the rear seat which folds up for easy access. This is an excellent use of dead space in the truck. I keep jumper cables, tow straps, trailer hitch, etc. in my gear box.

I’ve been using the Husky X-Act Contour liners all winter and spring and they work great. They are super easy to take out to dump out the dirt and gravel that collects in them, all while keeping the carpeted floors brand-new clean. I recently detailed my truck at home and the liners had become dirty and mud colored from heavy use. I simply used a terrycloth with Armor All sprayed on it and wiped down each floor mat. They now look brand new again. I can highly recommend the Husky X-Act Contour.
