More Deer Found Illegally Killed In Maine Fields

LIVERMORE FALLS, Maine (AP) — Three more deer have been found shot and left to waste in open fields in Maine and one state game warden is calling the killings a “selfish, barbaric act.”

In addition to a pregnant doe found shot in Chesterville last week, game wardens say does were also found dead in Leeds, Livermore and Livermore Falls.

Operation Game Thief, a private, nonprofit organization, upped its reward Tuesday to $2,500 for information that leads to the conviction of those responsible.

Game Warden Dave Chabot tells the Sun Journal he believes the out-of-season deer killings are connected, most likely done by the same person or group.

Chabot says in his 19 years of being a warden he has never seen such a vulgar display of waste.
