Levi Adams (Age 10) | Bowling Green, Indiana
Last deer season, I was sitting in my stand next to my dad with my Rossi .410 shotgun. At about 8 a.m. I heard something behind me. I turned and looked and it was a beautiful coyote coming up the logging trail.
I had seen many coyotes this season, but they never gave me a shot opportunity, and from the looks of it I thought I might just be able to get a poke at this one. At about 25 yards she stopped. I lifted my gun and squeezed the trigger. She dropped right in her tracks, flipped over, started kicking her legs, and expired! I climbed down the tree and picked up my prize. The coyote was as big as me! This was hopefully the first of many.
