The crazy 1-minute YouTube video below was posted by The Management Advantage, a team of wildlife professionals who help landowners on a wide variety of topics, including food plots, timber and habitat improvement, quality deer management, and fish ponds. As you’ll see below, the guys are in the field during February 2025 (checking out a property line in Texas, not hunting at the time) and encounter two big whitetail bucks with locked antlers. But it doesn’t end there — the bucks are also tangled in a barbed-wire fence.
The buck with the biggest rack — a giant 6x6! — is dead, and you can see at the beginning of the video clip how it has already been partially eaten by coyotes. What a horrible way to die. And think about this: The second buck had to somehow try to protect itself from coyotes while having its antlers locked. Crazy.
Thankfully, the guys have a saw with them, and they are able to free the live buck by cutting through its main beam. The free buck stumbles but then finally runs away.
Kudos to the guys from The Management Advantage by stepping up and saving the whitetail from a slow death by coyotes.
