Collage wild turkey double shotgun and recurve

This Instagram post was made by wildovisfilms, and it read: “Turkey double on opening morning. Too good not to share! It's funny that he thought it necessary for shooting first! Haha, but no apologies were necessary! I couldn't be more stoked to tag my first turkey with my son! It couldn't have gone any better.”

This truly is must-see TV. I’ve seen a lot of doubles on video before, with guns and bows, but never one where the first bird was killed with a shotgun and the second bird with a bow — and in this case, a recurve! That’s simply insane.

The broadhead used here, a 125-grain Magnus Bullhead, is one of my favorites for head/neck shots, and I’ve written about using it on this website many times in the past. I wasn’t surprised to see that someone from Magnus commented on the Instagram post.

Magnus Broadheads: This is amazing! Congratulations!

wildovisfilms: Thank you so much! Your broadhead worked perfectly! Seriously, you’ve got a customer for life.

I also liked this exchange with a viewer; as a dad who has hunted a lot with his two sons, I know firsthand the excitement and pride of watching your kids make good shots on animals:

Hunter: Dude that is awesome! The bow shot is insane, but probably doesn’t mean half as much as your boys!

Wildovisfilms: Haha, 1000%!!! You get it.
