In March 2020 on this website I highlighted a life-sized whitetail wedding cake (photo below) made by Dusty Sinclair of Sugarbelle Sweets in Corpus Christi, Texas. Click here to check it out that article. The finished cake weighed more than 130 pounds!
She recently crafted two more amazing whitetail buck cakes. The one at the top of this page is a cinnamon streusel whitetail deer cake. “This weekend I had the pleasure of making and delivering this replica buck cake all the way to Thibodaux, Louisiana,” Sinclair said. “The cake was a complete surprise to the groom as a gift from his very thoughtful momma. It’s such a passion of mine to create replica trophy’s to fellow hunters/anglers. Y’all are the best for letting me not only make your cakes for your special events, but for letting me pursue my dreams.”
The cinnamon streusel cake is layered in buttercream icing. The eyes are an edible sugar substitute called isomalt, and the antlers are made from modeling chocolate, which is also edible.
In early March 2021, Sinclair, who is an avid hunter, made the whitetail chocolate cake shown below. “This cake is by far my most favorite cake I have made,” she said. “I know I say that a lot, but seriously this cake would be a dream buck of a lifetime.”
