PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — State environmental officials are on the hunt for archery bows stolen last month and possibly sold on Craigslist.
The Department of Environmental Management says 12 bows were stolen. They've found two, but are looking for the rest.
The department says the Genesis bows are not hunting bows but are used by the agency to teach archery skills in its hunter education program. It says several programs will be hurt until the bows, valued at around $180 each, can be recovered.
The agency says people might have unknowingly purchased the stolen bows on Craigslist, and it would not prosecute any buyers.
It's asking for anyone who may have bought one to get in touch.
