Gear Spotlight: Thermacell ProFLEX Heated Insoles

While many of us are enjoying beautiful fall weather, it won't be long before the frigid cold of winter sets in. Here's sleek product that will keep your feet toasty while afield.
Gear Spotlight: Thermacell ProFLEX Heated Insoles

I’ve experienced the magic of Thermacell’s mosquito repellent system time and time again. That’s why I pay attention when they come out with a new product. The newest item out for them is the Thermacell ProFLEX Heated Insoles.

A couple years ago I got to test Thermacell’s original heated insole and it worked great. However, their new heated insoles are more flexible, comfortable, have longer use time, contain a removable and rechargeable battery and can be charged using either a USB cable or wall charger.

The best aspect of these insoles is the ability to operate the thermostat controls — medium, high or off — with a small wireless remote. The ProFLEX Insoles’ durable, lightweight, soft cushion polyurethane foam construction is breathable, conducts heat efficiently and has great retention and shock absorbency for all-day comfort. They maintain a steady temperature inside your footwear, keeping your feet at normal body temperature or slightly warmer as desired.

Rechargeable, removable lithium-ion polymer batteries embedded in the insoles power the heat element. They can run continuously up to 5 hours — or much longer if used in intervals. Batteries take 4 hours to recharge fully. When one battery runs out, simply insert a new battery without even removing the insoles from the shoes for continuous use all day.

Made for men and women, the ProFLEX Insoles are customizable to fit any shoe size from a women’s 4½ to a men’s 14. The heated insoles sell for $179.99.
