LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan's Senate has approved two bills that would prohibit the use of drones by hunters and those seeking to interfere with hunting.
The Senate approved the bills unanimously. Violation of the proposed law would be a misdemeanor and could bring jail time and fines. The bills now head to the House.
Gov. Rick Snyder vetoed a bill preventing the use of drones to harass hunters in January because he expected the bill prohibiting drones for hunting to reach his desk at the same time. That part of the package died in the House during the lame-duck session in December, though.
