BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries plans a wildlife symposium May 27 in Baton Rouge.
The program will run from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the agency's offices, 2000 Quail Drive.
Topics will include the southern pine beetle, amphibians in the Atchafalaya Basin, dove field management on Elbow Slough Wildlife Management Area, the federal farm bill, gopher tortoise conservation, trends in hunter education, prairie restoration, prescribed burning on Sandy Hollow Wildlife Management Area, influences of hunting on turkey movements and white-tailed buck space use and movement patterns.
The symposium is free and open to the public.
