VIDEO: New self-defense ammo is a "One-Shot Manstopper"

G2 Research's R.I.P. is being called a "the last round you'll ever need."

G2 Research (G2R)'s new Radically Invasive Projectile (R.I.P.) uses trocar edges (that is, edges with three angles that reach one point) for extreme penetration and expansion. G2R claims the bullet acts like a full metal jacket when it contacts a barrier — plywood, drywall, glass, sheet metal — and then expands its energy.

It's designed as a self defense load that should require only one shot to effectively stop a threat. It creates nine — yes, nine — separate wound channels as it expands. At the moment, only 9mm specs are available:

  • 16" penetration
  • Up to 6" diameter spread
  • 96-grain projectile
  • 2" grouping at 25 yards
  • 1265 FPS/490 muzzle energy
  • 9 separate wound channels
  • Precision machined
  • Solid copper/lead free
  • Defeats all known barriers such as sheet metal, sheet rock, windshields, plywood, heavy winter clothing
