Youth Outdoors Unlimited's annual Javelina camp

On January 27, 2012 Youth Outdoors Unlimited (YOU) opened up their Annual Javelina Camp for Junior Hunters and their families.

This is a weekend that over 30 volunteers, along with Arizona Game and Fish, come out and make it a grand event and experience that will be always remembered and reflected upon.

The camp is completely free and relies on donations to make it happen. YOU provides all meals and drinks from Friday night to Sunday morning. This allows mentors, parents and punters to focus on the hunt and not worrying about a hot meal.

The food is Awesome. Homemade beans, tacos, cross cut ribs, burgers, sloppy Joes, wings and much more.

All YOU camps offer a safe place for families to come and feel a part of a great camp no matter how much experience you may or may not have.

Besides great food we offer bathrooms, archery range, BB gun range, animal habitat booth, hunter’s safety instruction from a Arizona Wildlife Officer, as well as a huge camp fire and mentors to educate and take the kids out into the field for personal guidance.

During the Saturday night campfire a free raffle was held for all Junior Hunters. The prizes (all donated) included a rifle, hats, hunting gear, predator callers, guided hunts from a professional guides, knives, and much more.

This year’s camp hosted over 220 attendees with 65 hunters and 12 known junior hunters that were successful in their harvest of game. YOU also won the “Mentor of the Year” group for 2011 from Arizona Game and Fish.
