Ring Camera Video: Moose Sheds Both Antlers Simultaneously

With their Ring camera, homeowners in southern Alaska capture rare video of a bull moose shedding both of his antlers at the same time.

Ring Camera Video: Moose Sheds Both Antlers Simultaneously

Tyra and Chance Bogert (above) of Houston, Alaska (about 35 miles north of Anchorage), were in for an incredible surprise when the Ring Floodlight Camera they had installed near their front step captured rare footage of a moose shedding both antlers at the same time. Antler shedding usually happens in early December, so the act itself isn’t odd, but it usually takes several hours or even days for a bull to shed both antlers. Quite often a moose will drop one antler and then carry the second one for another day or two (or longer), which means the two antlers could be dropped miles apart from each other.

Chance told Newsweek: "I knew it was rare because all my hunting friends said they've never seen it in real life, let alone being caught on video."

As you’ll see in the YouTube video below, Chance picks up the large sheds to show them off to the camera. The Bogert family is keeping the antlers to mount them in their home.
