There is no denying that the design and overall appearance of Oneida bows are radically different from more conventional compound bows. Many shooters like it, some find it off-putting.

Driving the Ballistic is the same aggressively smooth AVS dual-cam system that Mathews developed for the McPherson series of bows, and at 330 fps it generates roughly the same speed as Mathews’ popular new Chill.

With an IBO of 330 fps, the new Drive is Quest’s fastest bow. That does not make it cutting-edge in terms of speed, but Quest bows are among a growing number of high-quality bows that stress shootability.

The original Wrath was introduced last year; for this year Strother’s designers set out to make the Wrath both faster and smoother shooting.

Prime’s Impact is the faster of two 2013 Prime models sharing the new PCX Cam, an updated version of Prime’s Parallel Cam Technology.

The “DS” is an acronym for DualSync, a reference to Darton’s hybrid cam system. The original Pro 3800 featured the same basic design, but the name was changed to DS-3800 presumably to highlight that design.

Being neither the least nor most expensive bow in the Diamond line-up makes the Core sort of a value bow among value bows.

The new DS-3900, described by Darton as a more compact, even faster version of the 3800. At 327?8 inches axle to axle, it is a little shorter than its predecessor and slightly lighter.

Prime made several significant improvements on the Centroid (as well as the Shift) for 2012. Most notably, the riser is forged 7000 series aluminum, as opposed to the industry standard 6061 T6.

Though it boasts several new and unique components, it shares the eye-catching widely flared riser that is common to several of Martin’s offerings, including the Cougar Pro and the Crossfire Pro.
