If you asked a group of regular clay target shooters – any target shooters, really – what might help them stay on the range longer and feel better at the end of a day of shooting, you’d probably get as many different answers as the number in the group – maybe more.

All those answers likely point to one culprit: felt recoil. The ShockEater Recoil Pad aims to solve that problem for shooters, with a big assist from science.

Using a proprietary Nano-Poly technology (a “high energy absorbing visco-polymer” according to the company’s Web site), ShockEater is soft and pliable at rest to conform to the shoulder, providing a perfect fit. Upon impact, the material stiffens at the molecular level to absorb and diffuse the recoil impact. The material then returns to its original state, ready for the next impact.

The pad is ultra-thin, adding less than ¼” to length of pull, and lightweight, so it can be inserted into the standard shooting pocket of most shooting shirts, vests and jackets.

“ShockEater is ideal for new shooters concerned about recoil as well as those who’ve cut back on time at the range because of shoulder pain,” remarks company president, Jack Portuesi.

And, quite frankly, anyone in between.
