SALEM, Ore. (AP) — A Salem, Oregon, kitten is recovering from 15 puncture wounds to his stomach and a swollen eye but his encounter with a bobcat in his family's backyard could easily have been deadly.
KPTV reports that 9-year-old Tennessee Paluska says he was indoors playing on his X-Box on Monday when he heard loud noises from the yard. Running to the window, he says he saw a bobcat attacking 10-month-old kitten Elliot. The little boy says he began banging on the window and the bobcat dropped the gray and white kitten and ran off.

Veterinarians say Elliot will make a full recovery. He's staying with a foster family while he heals.
The Paluskas say they'll be very cautious about letting Elliot go outside in the future.
