Every Christmas I look forward to receiving one stocking stuffer in particular from my parents: disposable field dressing gloves.
All of my hunting buddies and I use the same two-part glove system when field dressing a big game animal. First, you pull on shoulder-length gloves over your jacket; elastic bands at the top keep the baggy gloves in place. Next, you pull on form-fitting, wrist-length gloves over the top of the baggy gloves. The tight-fitting gloves allow you to hold a knife and other field dressing tools with precision.
This one/two glove system allows you to keep blood and other matter from getting on your hunting clothing, which is a tremendous benefit. And when you’re finished field dressing your animal, you simply pull off the baggy gloves — turning them inside/out as you work toward your hands — and by the time the tight-fitting gloves are pulled inside/out and off your hands, you’re left with a single pair of gloves with all the blood on the inside. If you haven’t tried this system, I strongly urge you to do so.
My buddies and I have used two brands of disposable field dressing gloves through the years and both work well.
