4 Top Gear Picks for Better Archery Accuracy

While it’s true nothing is more important than skill when it comes to archery accuracy, the gear you choose can certainly help — or hurt — you.

4 Top Gear Picks for Better Archery Accuracy

Previously, I wrote a Bowhunting World article called “7 Steps to Becoming a Better Bow Shot,” and it makes sense to expand on that topic by detailing four equipment items I think could help you be a better shooter and bowhunter.

The newest members to Prime’s (www.g5prime.com) growing list of compound bows is the Logic CT3 and Logic CT5. Built on Prime groundbreaking Centergy Technology, the Logic CT3 and CT5 have axle-to-axle lengths of  33- and 35-inches respectively, and feature Prime’s Center Grip balanced design. The grip, for 2019, has also been improved to provide a more consistent fit for a wide array of shooters. Both of these marquee jewels utilize the popular TRM Parallel Cam System, and also sport a new integrated quiver-mounting system for the Sherpa quiver. With speeds reaching 335 FPS and 340 FPS respectively, these two deadly rigs impressed me greatly.

The new IQ Define Pro Laser Rangefinding Bowsight (www.feradyne.com) incorporates a bow-mounted laser rangefinder with IQ sight technology to provide precision ranging while at full draw. Unlike its predecessor that ranged out to 99 yards, the new Define Pro provides accurate ranging out to 150 yards, which is instantly displayed on a vivid blue OLED that is in the shooter’s line of sight. Its one-touch trigger-activated scan mode offers full angle compensation abilities that takes the guesswork out of moving or stationary targets. Other features include a 30 percent reduction in weight, a seven-pin configuration, integrated Retina Lock and a rugged magnesium frame to name a few. Check state game and fish laws to make sure the IQ is legal in your bowhunting locale.

Designed from Carbon Express’s exclusive BackBone technology, the new Maxima XRZ (www.feradyne.com) series offers 360-degree spine consistency to stabilize and maintain how the arrow flexes in flight. The arrow’s center section, or the popular Red Zone, takes advantage of proven Tri-Spine technology that is specifically engineered to be stiffer and contain Dynamic Spine that reduces the exaggerated effect of broadhead-tipped arrows. With speed in mind, the XRZ delivers true accuracy in a flat-shooting and deep-penetrating standard-sized arrow and its 100 percent woven carbon design offers quick recovery out of the bow.
