Illinois would allow hunting and trapping of bobcats under legislation headed to the governor. The House approved a plan that would establish a hunting season for the previously endangered animal.
The plan only makes reference to “high-intensity hazing techniques by trained personnel.” Techniques include throwing rocks or golf balls, as well as “aggressive hazing” meant to “address more egregious coyote-related incidents” or attacks.
Preliminary figures show the number of deer hunted in Illinois is down this year.
