Airbow Regulation Rushed In Maryland

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is rushing to regulate the Benjamin Pioneer Airbow, the Associated Press reports. The Crosman innovation uses compressed air to shoot full-size arrows with more speed and accuracy than a crossbow.

The AP reports DNR released a statement saying it plans on proposing the Airbow as an air guns and wants to expand the definition of air guns to also include those that fire arrows. If the proposal is approved, the AP reports, that would make the Airbow permitted for deer hunts during muzzleloader and conventional firearm seasons and would make it legal for black bear season.
