The Life Of A Bowhunter In Deer Season: Day 8

Bauserman takes a day off from the tree to prep for an upcoming out-of-state adventure.
The Life Of A Bowhunter In Deer Season: Day 8

It was weird not waking up at 4 a.m., having my morning cup of coffee and going through my pre-hunt routine. At the same time, it was nice to sleep a little later. Today will be spent getting some much-needed work done and packing my bags for the Sooner State. One of my favorite bowhunting destinations, I will be pointing the Chevy Silverado (www.chevrolet.com) south tomorrow and making the five hour commute.

This will be my second trip to Oklahoma this year – the first proved to be awesome – I was able to harvest a pair of plump does. On this trip, my sights will be aimed at taking down a buck. I will be hunting a mixture of private and public land, and will be hunting with my very good friend and owner of Croton Creek Outfitters (www.crotoncreekadventures.com) Scott Sanderford. Scott and his wife Joni run a top-notch operation, and over the years have become two of my closest friends. I highly doubt I will be able to get in a tree tomorrow, but check back on Saturday, November 14, to join me on my Oklahoma journey.

Can't wait to take you all along! Hope your rut dreams are coming true!
