With more than 8,600 student athletes representing over 250 teams, clay target shooting has quickly become a favorite sport of Minnesota's high school students. It's also one of the safest, with zero reported injuries or gun-free zone violations since 2001.
Priority number one for participants in the Minnesota State High School Clay Target League: safe and responsible handling and storage of firearms and ammunition. Emphasis is also placed on sportsmanship, equal opportunity participation and team-over-individual honors. And, of course, fun – because seeing an orange clay target turned to dust always brings a smile to faces young and old!
