NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) — A Natchez couple says a juvenile black bear has been hanging out in their yard and snacking at their bird feeders.

Dennis Moritz tells The Natchez Democrat that the bear spent several hours in their yard Tuesday and Wednesday nights. He says he and his wife, Judy, saw the bear digging around, eating birdseed and drinking from a bucket that they use to water flowers.

After a while, Dennis Moritz says, the bear "just went on his merry way.''

The homeowner says he talked to wildlife experts. They told him bears are coming out of their sleepy periods this time of year and are roaming around to find food
