Kentucky wildlife officials have opened 859 more acres for public hunting in Pulaski County in south-central Kentucky.
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky wildlife officials have opened 859 more acres for public hunting in Pulaski County in south-central Kentucky.
The new Buck Creek Wildlife Management Area opened to the public on Saturday.
No sportsmen's dollars were used to purchase the property, according to Tony Wheatley, land acquisition coordinator for the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. Kentucky Fish and Wildlife recently acquired the wildlife management area through the Kentucky Wetland and Stream Mitigation Fund.
Buck Creek will be open for hunting deer, turkey, small game and furbearers. The wildlife management area consists of mostly forested land with moderately steep terrain in eastern Pulaski County.
Anglers will have access to one mile of Buck Creek.
