Nebraskans looking for public access to hunting and fishing sites in Nebraska can now find them as close as their smartphones.
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraskans looking for public access to hunting and fishing sites in Nebraska can now find them as close as their smartphones.
The printed 2011 Public Access Atlas contains all public and open fields and waters sites. Navigation links at OutdoorNebraska.org, the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission's website, now offer more ways to view the Atlas.
Visitors can click on link labeled "Hunting,'' then "Where to Hunt,'' to view the online atlas or download an application to view the atlas on a mobile device, such as a smartphone or computer tablet.
The navigation page also has links that allow state-owned lands and Open Fields and Waters access sites to be viewed in Google Earth. Those sites soon will be available on GPS units.
