Truck Accessories For The Predator Hunter

Most hunters view their truck as a second home, a castle if you will. My truck is not only my preferred method of travel to hunting country, but also a good friend. To make your truck more practical in the field you may want to consider some accessories that will create a hunter-friendly atmosphere. It will provide a better home environment for you and your gear.

First, do some smart shopping. Look to Cabela’s if you’re searching for a full complement of truck accessories for hunters. They make it easy by assembling a catalog especially catering to outdoor auto and ATV enthusiasts. You’ll find everything including winches, grill guards, run racks, tow straps and one of my first considerations, seat covers.

Seat covers not only shout out that you embrace a hunting lifestyle, but they also keep your original seat material free of dust and grime. You may want to trade that truck off someday and despite your welcoming attitude to dirt it pays to keep your truck tidy for resale value. For protection, comfort and style consider the new Cabela’s Suede Custom-Fit Seat Covers. I’m partial to the Mossy Oak Breakup Country version since the Country camouflage pattern screams my love of rural living. These 100 percent heavyweight polyester covers include foam cushioning and even cover armrests and headrests.

You could put your predator rifle in a hard case to ride in the bed of your truck, but unless forced to by state law look at Trophy Hunting Products and their Backseat Gun Sling. This firearm sling attaches to bucket or console seats, and holds three firearms in padded, nonslip pockets. The rugged construction features tear-resistant fabric that is water resistant. Plus, each padded pocket includes a front storage space for extra ammunition, your GPS and other hunting essentials. It’s available in Realtree and Mossy Oak patterns.

If you peruse the Trophy Hunting Products website you may also stumble across the Enforcer vehicle handgun mount. You may not be a handgun predator hunter, but we all travel through questionable neighborhoods. This intelligently designed system attaches to most holsters and holds a handgun under the steering column for quick access in case of an emergency. It eliminates the need to wear a holster while driving and yet have protection close at hand.

Lastly, sometimes your cab just can’t hold all of your predator hunting gear, yet you can’t bear to leave the kitchen sink at home. Check out a Truckvault system. These serious storage compartments fit in most vehicles including SUVs and trucks, and are lockable to protect valuables. Find the unit that fits your vehicle and leave your worries behind. Certain units are dustproof, fireproof and virtually waterproof, plus certain truck models even allow you to drive an ATV on top of them for more flexibility in your adventure.

Your hunting vehicle is your castle. Treat it like a queen with some hunting bling.
