Watching the exploding popularity of the Duck Dynasty reality show and the ever expanding number of products being spun off from the series, you'd think the television phenom was all about "Happy, Happy, Happy" t-shirts and Uncle Si Tupperware cups.
But the Robertson family is indeed sticking with its waterfowl and varmint shooting traditions by teaming with Mossberg & Sons to offer a series of 11 rifles and shotguns specially designed by the Duck Commander team.
"Mossberg is extremely proud to partner with Duck Commander to further promote hunting, shooting sports and family values," said Mossberg CEO Iver Mossberg in a statement. "The Robertson's widespread appeal and ability to cross over into the mainstream has bridged millions to the traditions of hunting and sharing time in the field with family."
Of course the company will offer a range of Duck Commander-branded shotguns — from the 20 ga. SA-20 and 500 Super Bantam youth model pump, to the mighty 935 Magnum autoloader and popular 500 Flex pump. But the company is also expanding the Duck Commander brand into the ever-popular AR market, by offering a .22 rimfire 715P pistol and 715T rifle.
"They're saying that this year they're killing more snakes around the property than ducks," Mossberg's Tom Taylor told Gallery of Guns. "So they love our rimfire rifles."
All the Duck Commander guns are variously dipped in the Robertson's favorite Realtree Max-5 camouflage pattern and each comes with Willie's trademark American flag bandana. Look for Mossberg's exclusive Duck Commander series of rifles and shotguns at outdoor shops in 2014.
