The FBI released its 2015 Uniform Crime Report and one part may surprise many — and may not surprise others at all.
Table 20 of the report breaks down total murders by state in 2015 by how the murder was committed. The chart categorizes murders by total firearms murders then those committed by handguns, rifles, shotguns, unknown type of firearm, knives or cutting instruments, other weapons and hands, fist, feet, etc.
Breitbart.com reports approximately 252 people were killed with rifles, while 595 murders were placed in the “hands, fist, feet, etc.” category. The rifles category, as the website notes, includes “assault weapons.”
The large margin between hands, fist, feet, etc. and rifles isn’t a new phenomenon. Breitbart.com reports the 2014 report was similar, with approximately 670 people being beaten to death and 251 people being killed with rifles.
