Leer Endless Possibilities

SHERIDAN, Wyo. (AP) — Hunters will have plenty of opportunities to pursue deer and antelope in northeast Wyoming this fall.

Mild winters and good rates of reproduction have led to higher-than-desired numbers of antelope and white-tailed deer in some areas.

In one hunt area near Sheridan, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department plans to issue 3,000 doe or fawn licenses. This year's season begins Sept. 1 and lasts until Dec. 19. Hunters will be able to take up to four doe or fawn deer.

Some areas in the Sheridan region also will permit two of any antelope tags and up to four doe/fawn licenses.

Game and Fish says overpopulated big game numbers can damage available habitat and livestock forage as well as be a hazard to vehicles.
