SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — It's not too late to get a license to hunt deer, elk or javelina in New Mexico.

The Department of Game and Fish plans an online first-come, first-served sale of 5,000 licenses next month.

The first sale is Aug. 4 for hunters under 18 who didn't get a license in the state's regular drawing. The department will offer 1,900 elk licenses for young hunters.

The second sale will be held Aug. 11. About 430 javelina and 2,700 deer licenses will be available to hunters of any age.

The department will sell the licenses on its website: www.wildlife.state.nm.us
