LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan is selling hunting licenses for antlerless deer online and through vendors.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment starts offering the licenses Thursday.

In all, the state says it will issue 776,500 antlerless deer licenses for 2010. That's up from 728,100 in 2009.

The department says hunters will find fewer antlerless licenses available in the Upper Peninsula. It says the number of Upper Peninsula Deer Management Units not offering antlerless licenses is increasing from 12 last year to 17 this year.

In the northern Lower Peninsula, antlerless permits are increasing, mainly because of more licenses being available on private land on the east side.
