YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) — The National Park Service says fresh grizzly bear tracks have been spotted in Yellowstone National Park, meaning some of the bruins have ended their winter hibernation and started roaming about in a search for food.

Officials in a news release Friday say park employees spotted the tracks Tuesday on Mary Mountain at about the center of the lower loop of the park's Grand Loop Road.

Officials say grizzlies typically look for elk and bison carcasses after emerging from their dens and will sometimes react aggressively if surprised while feeding.

Park officials recommend hikers, snowshoers and cross-country skiers travel in groups of three or more, make noise, and keep an eye out for bears.
