Police in Cranston are warning residents to be cautious after a coyote attacked and bit a man in his yard.
CRANSTON, R.I. (AP) Police in Cranston are warning residents to be cautious after a coyote attacked and bit a man in his yard.
Police say the man was treated at Kent Hospital for the wound, which was not life-threatening. The incident occurred Friday on Riverfarm Road.
The Department of Environmental Management is warning residents to throw away and secure trash that could attract wildlife, and to avoid contact with wild animals if they see any nearby.
Officials also say pet owners need to be sure their dogs and cats are up to date on their rabies shots.
