SHOT Show: New Predator Rifles

Thompson/Center Venture Bolt-Action Rifle

TC Venture PredatorI had the opportunity to shoot the new T/C Predator Venture offering yesterday during the media day. At 50 yards (shot at indoor range) the predator rifles 3-shot groups were all touching. And that was after more than 400 rounds of .22-250 ammo were fired from it, without cleaning.

Some of the key features on the Venture are:

22-inch precision barrel with 5R rifling (guaranteed to shoot 1-inch groups or less at 100 yards).

Adjustable trigger pull from 3.5 to 5 pounds.

Composite stock with traction-grip panels (decked out in Realtree Max-1).

The predator rifle is chambered in .204, .22-250, .223, and .308.

Weighs less than 7 pounds and has a 13 5/8-inch length of pull.

Its price will be under $600.

The Model 597 VTR is covered in the A-TAC Digital camo and features a 16-inch barrel. It has collapsible stock or you can get it with the fixed stock design. Barrel is floated with options of a Picatinny-style quad rail or free-floated tube. A 10-round clip is included, but easily accepts after-market high-capacity magazines.
