Coyote Attack Reported On CU-Boulder's East Campus

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — Wildlife officials are putting up warning signs on the University of Colorado's east campus in Boulder after a dog and its owner were attacked by a coyote.

The Daily Camera reports the man was walking his dog in a wooded area Thursday evening when the coyote attacked. The man, who was bitten on his left forearm, pulled his dog out of harm's way and ran the coyote off by waving a stick.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials are posting warning signs and will continue to monitor the area for coyote activity.

University police say that if a coyote approaches, pedestrians should make themselves look as large as possible, wave their arms and throw objects.
